A classic social deduction (mafia) game where King Arthur's good knights and Mordred's evil forces hide their identities while trying to make quests succeed or fail. Special roles such as Merlin and Percival are added on top of The Resistance system, which deepens the information game considerably.
1. Setup
Deal out cards for Arthur's side (Merlin, Percival, and so on) and the evil side (Mordred, the Assassin, and so on) to match the player count. Following the narrator, players secretly exchange identity information before the game starts, with Merlin opening their eyes to see who the evil players are, for example.
2. Turn flow
The quest leader puts a team together, and once everyone approves it by vote, the team members secretly submit a Success or Fail card. The leader role passes clockwise to the next player each round.
3. Key rules
Only the evil side can play a Fail card on a quest, and the quest fails when the set number of Fail cards come up. If five team proposals in a row are rejected on the same quest, the evil side wins immediately and the game ends.
4. End condition
Three successful quests means the good side wins (except that if the Assassin names Merlin correctly, the evil side turns it around and wins even though good had won), and three failed quests means the evil side wins.

💡 Master tip
The good side has to pass information along without making it obvious who Merlin is, and for the evil side the key is spreading suspicion around. If Percival is in play, acting in a way that confuses Merlin with Morgana also becomes an important swing factor.
Q. How many Fail cards does a quest need to fail?
Normally a single Fail card is enough to fail it. The only exception is the fourth quest in games of seven or more players, which needs two Fail cards to fail.
Q. Can evil win even after good gets three successes?
Yes. When good succeeds on three quests, the Assassin names the player they suspect is Merlin, and if they pick the real Merlin, evil wins the game.
Q. What happens if team proposals keep getting rejected?
If five team proposals in a row are rejected on the same quest, the game ends immediately with an evil win.
