Edition and verification scope

The owner's box states 2–8 players, ages 6+, 15–25 minutes, barcode `655132001946`, and lists 56 fruit cards, 34 expansion cards, 8 animal cards, 12 penalty cards, a bell and instructions. No publisher is shown on the box.

Kept separate from classic Halli Galli

The same barcode appears on a Rio Grande base-game listing, yet this copy contains 54 more cards than the base game. Its publisher and distribution status are unconfirmed, so this guide does not merge it with AMIGO or Korea Boardgames editions.

Set aside

34 expansion + 8 animal + 12 penalty cards

Use only the verified fruit deck first. Keep all three extra card types separate until their Chinese instructions are understood.

1Take only the 56 fruit cards and the bell.
2Set aside the 34 expansion, 8 animal and 12 penalty cards.
3Shuffle and deal the fruit cards as evenly as possible, face down.
4Keep each deck unseen and put the bell where everyone can reach it.

Taking turns

1Starting with the first player and moving clockwise, reveal the top card of your deck.
2Flip it outward so other players see it before you do.
3Cover your previous face-up card completely; only each player's top card counts.
4The next player reveals one card in the same way.

Covering can create five

A valid total can appear when a new card adds fruit or when it covers fruit and lowers a visible total to exactly five.

When to ring

Ring as soon as one fruit totals exactly five across all visible top cards.

The visible total for one fruit must be exactly five.
Four and six do not count.
The first correct player takes every face-up pile and puts those cards under their deck.
That player begins the next run of reveals.

A false ring

In the official base game, a player who rings incorrectly gives one face-down card to every other player. Each recipient puts it under their deck.

Do not add the penalty cards

The separate set of 12 ‘penalty cards’ in this box is unverified. Do not invent an extra effect for a false ring.

Elimination and ending

A player with no face-down cards may still ring while their last face-up pile remains.
They are out once another player wins that pile.
When two players remain, finish after the next ring and compare deck sizes.
For a simpler house ending, continue until only one player has cards.

Animal cards alone do not justify using Halli Galli Extreme rules. Add these cards only after reading the full Chinese booklet or finding official rules for this exact product.

Playing with children

Practice naming visible totals without ringing in the first round.
Ban resting hands over the bell to reduce collisions.
Start with two fruit types for very young players, then return to all 56 cards.
Ask players to press the bell lightly with one palm rather than striking hard.

Frequently asked rules

Q. Do I ring for five or more fruit?

Exactly five of one visible fruit. Four and six are invalid.

Q. Do all face-up cards count?

Only the top card of each player's face-up pile counts; covered cards are hidden.

Q. Am I out as soon as my deck empties?

In the base game you may still ring while your final face-up pile remains. You are out after another player wins it.

Q. How do the animal cards work?

Their rules in this edition are unverified. Leave them out of the base game.

Q. Is this the same as standard Halli Galli?

Its 56-card fruit game corresponds to the base game, but the unbranded box and 54 extra cards prevent an exact-edition match.
