In curling, the team with the higher total after the agreed ends wins. Bowling uses the stones to knock down pins, but its official score sheet has not been verified.

Shared setup and control

1Unroll the mat fully on a flat table and smooth any curl.
2Prepare the curling house or bowling-pin end for the chosen mode.
3Place a stone on the mat and align a magnetic bar beneath it.
4Practise a slow push before starting.

The bar moves below the mat while the stone travels above it. Keep the mat flat.

Curling mode

1Form two teams. The owner's box permits one to four players on each team.
2Choose colours and alternate moving one stone towards the house.
3An end finishes after every stone has been used. Only stones in or touching the house can score.
4Only the team with the stone closest to the centre scores. It gains one point for each stone closer than the opponent's nearest stone.
5The owner's box calls for eight ends, or three or five for a shorter game. Add the scores from all ends.

Bowling mode — confirmed scope

Stand the six pins on their marked end of the mat and move a stone from the opposite end to knock them down. The contents and manufacturer video confirm this much.

Simple household format

Until the official sheet is found, let each player send one stone, record the pins knocked down, reset all six and total scores after an agreed number of rounds. This is a BoardGameMate suggestion, not an official rule.

Judging and safety

Do not move the mat or table before positions are judged.
For close stones, measure from the centre to the nearest edge; if still equal, treat them as level.
Use the magnetic bar under the mat rather than flicking pieces hard.
Keep small pins and stones away from mouths; supervise children under six.
