How Jaipur scoring works
End of a round and scoring
- A round ends immediately if either: β 3 types of goods tokens are depleted, or β‘ the deck cannot refill the market back to 5 cards.
- Whoever has more camels in their herd this round takes the camel token (5 rupees). A tie means neither player takes it.
- Each player flips over their goods and bonus tokens (including the camel token, if held) and totals the value.
- The richer player takes a Seal of Excellence. Ties go first to whoever has more bonus tokens, then to whoever has more goods tokens.
Frequently asked questions
Do camels count toward the 7-card hand limit?
No. Camels are unrelated to the hand limit and are kept in a separate herd.
Can I return only camels during an exchange?
Yes. Returned cards may be camels, goods, or a mixture. However, the same goods type cannot be both taken from and returned to the market, and you can never exchange just 1 card (2 or more are required).
Can I sell just 1 diamond, gold, or silver card?
No. These three goods must be sold at least 2 cards at a time, even if only one token of that type remains.
